Sugarhill gang - 8th wonder one of the only sugarhill tunes i like. did you know that sugarhill gang copied most of "rappers delight" and it was infact grandmaster caz who wrote it? bunch of bloody biters. Same as don't like rappers delight really. Yes I can't remember who it was but I think it was Big Bank Hank who stole Caz's rhyme book. It's obvious because Caz was AKA Casanova Fly which is mentioned in the song. Another boring fact is that Grandmaster Flash had nothing to do with 'The Message' - just slapped his name on it to sell records if ou get the chance watch a b boy DVD called "freshest kids". one of the extras is a comeback to rappers delight by grandmaster caz and he explains it all. apparently BBH asked him to rite a tune but didnt tell him why. he wrote it and the rest is history. strange though because loads of people say the phrase "hip hop" didnt exist until about 84/85, although the first line of RD is "i said a hip hop" which was released in 1979. hmmm |
