I'm looking to book a holiday in the summer but am sure where to go.

Its either NYC or a beach holiday. the dollar is so high against the pound (double) that America is very tempting. But is very expensive to get there.

On the other hand she wants a beach holiday somewhere like Cyprus. She wants a holiday without all the 'English Breakfasts, Red Lions,' a typical British resort.

Help!

Also is it worth waiting to book it last minute to get a better deal?

Fuertenventura is beautiful and not your Typical English resort like Benidorm.

I stopped in Corrolejo.

NYC is ace - but at the height of Summer will be scorching - it was very warm in may last year - really humid.

IMHO a nice compromise is Barcelona - fantastic city, but with a beach too, and because it's a big city it avoids the costa del arsehold vibe of many places.

The mrs has always wanted to go to NYC. and because of the exchange rate it seems an ideal time to go. But it will be in August.

Ralphy, is that part of the canaries?

Yes it's just south of Lanzarote.

Beautiful island with amazing sand dunes.

I think Sam went there last summer too?

Rhodes is nice but it can't match the beauty of Fuertenventura.

I'm going to Exeter in a few weeks. Not sure that counts as a holiday after I lived their for 4 years.

Haven't had a holiday for years. From the ages of 16-18 I always preferred the prospect of a free house for 2 weeks. Then when I was a student I could never afford it.
