......re CG redevelopment, daresay Holt could do with a bit of support from anyone seriously bothered about the club progressing.

The local freebie paper has started its own anti campaign, which of course has not been countered.....even going so far as to conflate a proposed build on the site of the Swindon Bowling Club, as somehow to do with STFC.

I did that the other night too.

I've worked out why it happened though. I'm thick.

Reggie isnt this meeting for residents only?

From what Ive read about this Central Outlook rag it seems that its one person trying to stir the shit up a bit.Its all to do with losing some of the "open" spaces near the ground and what constitutes open space. The Bowls club,Cricket Ground and Athletics track obviously aren't open space because they have gates around them and are only used by the clubs.I cant see it being problem as all will (I assume) be offered alternative sights with improved amenities. The plans for the area are supposed to take into account  the residents need for a bit of green space and after the problems with Shaw(went up there this morning and Ive still never seen anyone there) the developers would be stupid to try and fob them off.

Theres a very young forest on a hill, its quite nice up there to be honest .There would have been more than enough room up there for 10 football grounds and still have a massive nature reserve but thats old ground so to speak.

I mentioned this on the Trust site and promptly the only ever person I have ever known to go up there regularly, a Mr Johnathan Doyle promptly appeared and declared that it was the Mecca for nature lovers miles around.

Personally I herd it was quite a hot spot for dogging, but I wouldn’t want to cast aspersions!

Has this rag got an online linkage?

So you just turn up and say you live in Shrivenham Road who's to know?

Although the Cricket club and athletics are members things, they are still open spaces of a sort, ie empty of people and traffic etc.

The best way to get this going will be to promise the Council a purpose built mosque somewhere on the site.....Muslims are allowed to watch live matches, but not on the TV, so that's shouldn't be a problem......the club can then acuse the council of racism if they don't come on board.
