dave, i would have thought yesterday's reuslt what have prevented any hopes he harboured over being england coach. he pretty much admitted as much after the game

Lets not forget that he was an excellent batsman for England !

Hope his demise isn't found to be as a result of Pakistan's World Cup exit.

agreed, but he's dealt very well with probably the most unpredictable side in the world, not to mention all the scandal the team generate.

a properly dignified man and a very good coach, he'd have done a good job.
