Saw Echo and the Bunnymen in Oxford on Saturday, just the 25 years since I last saw them there. As magical, mystical / surly, aloof as ever. Bless.

Florence & The Machine at Manchester last week.  Best bit was when she banged her nut on the speaker. To be fair though it wasn't half bad at all and sounded quite good in the old Apollo. |

Saw the Pogues at Madstock in July and they were one of the worst acts I have ever seen, Shane could barely stand up let alone sing or make a single lyrics understandable. |

I was near the front (by the amp) and damaged my left ear, got to go to hospital for tests, not good.
I have been to a few gigs in the last couple of years or so where I have been a bit too close to the PA and my ears have hurt the next day. That can't be good. I am seriously worried about it as I have been doing that for years now. The sensing hairs in your inner ears don't recover very well. I don't want a fucking hearing aid. Perhaps I will do a Phil Lynott - go deaf and then die relatively young.  |
