Weller was fantastic.  Excellent set and the sound was brilliant - better than the last time I saw someone at the Oasis (Ash - about 4 years ago?).

Ash was about 7 years ago!  Eek

Fuck no, that was about 7 years ago. I remember because everybody rolled up to see the support act, Hundred Reasons, and then fucked off when Ash came on stage.

Was hoping to see Billy Bragg in Wrexham (the missus lives there) but its on her birthday weekend and she's not a fan.  Shame.

It would appear that I am getting on a bit then - does not seem that long ago  Smiley  Don't think that we bothered with the support act at the time - think that the bar was more tempting.

I was pleased that the bars were well stocked with beer when I went to see Weller.

When we got there at about 7:30-ish, they were turning away people from the downstairs bar.  Just before the end of the support act' set, upstairs was v. busy and after about 15 mins queuing tried downstairs again.  All the lower bar had left were things like Red Bull and a couple of bottles of cider left Angry

My mate said he saw KOL there recently and the bar service was far better that night.  Ended up with a couple of bottles of Coke from the vending machines.... Crying

They ran out of beer very early at KOL and yes Dave, it was about 5 years ago.

There was plenty of beer in the downstairs bar at 7:30, I can only imagine it was too busy Sad

That's what everyone ended up drinking at KOL too. Actually I now remember I was turned away from the downstairs bar at Weller, so went upstairs.

So I think I've based my assumptions on that tiny bar upstairs which was rammed Sad

Got tickets for Madness at Newbury Race Course.

Last time I bought the same tickets they cancelled last minute and turned into UB40.

£25 for an evenings racing and a Madness  Gig is a bit of a bargain if you ask me!
