When I saw The Fall Mark Smith had singing issues, he was terrible, probably the worst performance I have ever seen ever by any band.

Saw the Charlatans as well about the same time, they were really poor too but I am not a big fan of theirs but I got freebies from their tour manager, so it was rude not to go.

The Fall are like marmite I guess.
A fairly stable line up since 2006 and have been ok whenever I've seen them.
A few beers beforehand do help though.

The Charlatans have had their problems with substance abuse over the years.
I've mainly seen them in more recent times when Tim Burgess has been clean and they have not disappointed.
No excuse for that haircut though.

Annual dose of the mighty Fall tonight.

Bristol. Fiddlers Club.
Bedminster looks better at night.
Could do with some Chrimbo lights going up.

Mighty indeed

Agree. This is the best line up since Hanley ,Wolstencroft and Scanlon. (PV loves 'em really!)

Nah, just these 7 uk dates.

Whats better is brixton - cardiff - brixton.  Ridiculous routing.
I'm going to the Cardiff one on Tuesday. Looking forward to it.

Ill be honest, it is a very good show, but it is also hard work for me!  I should probably wear a town top that night.

Oh Ive just picked up on Slow Readers Club.  Yes quite like them.  Epic depressing glacial electronic stuff with a bit of falsetto singing thrown in.  Stick a chiming guitar in and Id be in love I think.

he he, Eric depressing electronic... I like that

Watched Kasabian in Cardiff on Monday. Brilliant as usual, such a good live band, never do a bad gig.
Liam Gallagher up next for me on Sunday in Nottingham, first time seeing him/Oasis/Beady Eye so hopefully it’s a good one.

I always found that an Oasis / Beady Eye crowd liked to sling the beer around, so always tended to hide at the back. Suspect that it won't be any different for Liam solo.

Not sure if a High Flying Birds audience is more sophisticated as not seen them live.

Saw Kasabian at the O2 last Friday. Hadn’t seen them for a couple of years or so and was concerned that they would not be as good as before, needn’t have worried they were definitely as good as ever.

Don't know if any of you have seen or heard "Matthew & Me". Never fail to deliver a cracking live performance. Old Flame Alight & Every Day are wonderful tracks. I wish them continued success
