Went to a one day folk festival yesterday with the last 3 acts being Beth Orton, Seth Lakeman and Richard Thomspson. There's not many times I've been to gigs and been in awe but Richard Thompson is a genius. His guitar work is incredible. Seth is also excellent to see live. Beth was a bit of a let down, not bad but hoped for better. All for £35 - bargain.

Finally saw The Wurzels live Smiley They were on after Bath races last night. Really got quite a crowd, mostly drunken true, but even so everyone got in the swing of it.

One disappointment, the new version of Combine Harvester is shit. But they did cover the Kaiser Chiefs so we'll let them off.

Now I fear  may never return to this thread, for my musical journey is complete.

I went to see Jimmy Eat World at Brixton, I parked behind the Police station. It was free.

Back on the subject Brixton Academy, Babymetal are playing there in November, rather tempted to get a ticket.

Rise Against (Southampton Guildhall), Lit (Brooklyn Bowl) and New Found Glory (Portsmouth Pyramids)..

All in November with a trip to Florida sandwiched in.

November will be a good month!

Speaking of Florida, hoping to catch a gig at the House Of Blues, would be an experience :-)

Saw The Lindisfarne Story tonight in Wimborne - could have done with a smaller venue than the Tivoli, but it was a great evening, and you could see that even after all this time Alan Hull's loss still deeply affects Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell. Wish I could have stuck around longer and chatted to them in the bar afterwards.

I saw that earlier. I imagine it'll be a mad scramble for tickets though.

I'm off to see Manchester Orchestra on Saturday courtesy of Saxondale. I owe you a beer or three.
