Off to see The Answer tonight.  First time I've seen them, but love their stuff.

Off to see The Specials on Sunday, can't wait, been waiting 30 bloody years to see them live!

If there are any Ska/Reggae fans out there in Swindon that want a good nights entertainment then 2 old mates of mine are gigging in The Messenger Pub in Covingham Tonight, they are a ska based duo from Winchester that do many many great covers of Ska and Reggae songs.

Both of them are members of Bad Manners and great guitarists and singers, go have a good nights entertainment for free.

Specials in Plymouth yesterday were totally amazing, one of the best sounding gigs I have ever been to.

Glad to hear it. I'm off in an hour or so to Cheltenham Racecourse to see them.

Maccabees at Oxford Town Hall - brilliant. Had a chat with the lead singer beforehand and found the guitarist in the Jamaican bar after.

The Specials was interesting. It was like a "This is England" convention. Nice to see a few red Fred Perry's in attendance and a few STFC 70s nutjobs there - all now very respectable people, I'm sure.
I'm now probably going to be a bit of a heretic but when the Specials are good, they're very good - Monkey Man and Do Nothing but theres' a fair amount of "padding". A good evening and a good venue but there were lulls.

Stephen Merchant in Bristol last night was excellent, if I can include comedy gigs.

Support was pretty decent too, Daniel Schloss I believe his name was.

For any old folkies out there i saw Show of Hands tonight at Marlborough. Bloody excellent musicians. Weird venue - Theatre on the Hill which is part of St Johns School. Expected a school hall, what I got was a mini Wyvern holding 400-500 - fantastic sound and venue.

Throwing Muses on wednesday were awesome, and Kristin Hersh replied to a tweet of mine on saturday. Has been a good week.
