.....back in 86/87.   About April time they were top by 8 points we had a couple of games in hand in second.....crowd of over 14,000 at the CG.

It was on MotD as a featured game (back then they were contractually obliged to cover something like 8 Div 3  games)

Typical STFC...as game kicks off, the cameras in the Shrivenham Road pick up on crowds still trying to get into the Bank (then a home end) queueing across the extension.

Think Macari had the big up of a feature on Football Focus.....good interview at the end with Arry Redknapp and Lou.....Arry in fetching cricket stylee designer jumper.

Arry had forged a typical decent side out of bits and pieces......it would be good if he does as promised and buys Bormuff to see what he can do with it.

It finished 1-1 John Williams scored for them.....and Dave Hockaday equalised for us ......probably last time we featured on MotD outside oif the Prem season.

I remember that game, John Williams was effing HUGE!  The official crowd was 14,000 but in reality probably closer to 17,000.

Happy days indeed!
