Had a few pints then went for a burger in the Charcoal Grill as you do. Just after we left a fight broke out and some bloke died, had his head kicked in, literally.

Its well rough in Marlborough,  some years ago I pulled a bird who had a flat above the butchers in the street,  not High Street, just on the way round to the Forest turning roundabout.......there's an Inder about 2 doors down.....these nobs came out making a load of racket at kicking out time.....which annoyed me so I had to lean out the window and ask them to quieten down........they didn't appreciate this and sought retribution, but as the flat entrance was right around the back, and they couldn't find a way in from the front...got bored and cleared off.....still the bird was impressed

You obviously get a few ruffians/mentalists/piss heads around but I reckon Marlborough is about as genteel as you will get in this day and age apart from Frinton-On-Sea perhaps which only got its first pub a couple of years ago in spite of ferocious opposition from Hyacinth Bucket and the NIMBY's.

Sounds similar to Abingdon to me, someone normally gets stabbed at least once a week up strattons nightclub.

Highworth's a good bit rougher than Marlborough.....although the hooray Henry's at the Public Schol can cut up rough if you mention,  Gordon Brown.
