The fact that BP has put his cards on the table SHOULD give the consortium/trust leverage to induce further outside investment into the consortium/trust and ultimately the club that hopefully will then allow full re-furb or re-build of the arkells at some point in the future surely. I see this statement as a catylist to attract further investment. One thing i will say though, is that it will be easier to flog the flats/hotel facilities/conferencing etc if the whole thing is done at the same time ie all new from the off. A big ask i know. Flats built into a football stadium tend to be sold on prestige/location. If part of the old ground remains largely untouched ie arkells, it becomes less attractive. Just a thought, not a critiscm. Unless your thinking social housing to get the council on board? Good work though fella's....fucking well done! :tea: I cant wait for a Greek statement on this

The flats built into the side of the stand would be affordable housing rather than social housing; the posh ones in the infills would not be. Also as I said earlier there would be a fair amount of work done on the Arkells - certainly we'd look to retain the core fabric but there'd have to be a fair bit of work done to accomodate the additional floorspace (from extending the footprint) and the exec boxes/conferencing (from building up). So although we'd look to retain the core fabric of both the South and North stands, they'd both have substantially more than a lick of paint

There is a half page article on this on about page 21 of today's Adver.
It is essentially the press release with one additional paragraph:
"Swindon Town declined to comment on Bill Power's support for the Trust proposals".

Excellent news Bill is doing all that he can do to help us so its our turn to help him, lets see a sea of Orange no forgetting hats, no orange is a gimpy colour lets get as many of us we can in Orange against Wrexham on Saturday and send a defiant message to Mike D that this is our club not his with Bill at the helm we can become a force once more and I really hope we dont miss this opportunity as I dont think in the years to come we will have another chance like this an investor who is willing to put money in and take nothing back I for one will be once again decked in Orange this Saturday and every Saturday until they get the message Interesting to note that Maverick has not commented on this thread, has the cat got his tongue or has he had to urgently contact Martyn Starnes to see what there response is going to be :?
