King would have put his cigar out on anyway causing problems in the technical area.

Lets not also forget that while cone collecting is a vital skill to have in the role, they also need to be pretty good at cone laying out and carrying a big sack of balls.

This is where the club has sadly lost its way.....gone are the days when cone laying and ball sack carrying were done by Eddie Buckley, thus freeing up the assistant to do more important jobs, like organising card schools, betting syndicates  and practical jokes.

That one went a bit wrong back in the 80's though.

Eddie used to give my Dad a lift to training back in the 60's with Kevin Morris.  Lovely bloke if a lot crazy.

Barry Cryer isn't doing much at the moment.

Bet his team talks would go on a bit though.................

Barry Bucknell was a practical kind of fella, but sadly he's now dead......those of us of a certain age know how Barry enticed working class men  away from the pub into wanting to own a Black and Decker and a Workmate.

I think the club should have got Ginster Wrapper, Barry in.

That would have been ace.

Bit of animosity between Hunter & Lincoln it seems....

Quote

When Lincoln face Swindon Town on Saturday, they will have a chance to shut a sore-loser up once and for all. Ex-Rushden boss, Barry Hunter has been appointed as temporary assistant boss at the County ground. The self-important manager is also one of the biggest sore-losers in football.

Cast your minds back about 19 months to a game at Rushden and Diamonds. In that game, Rushden had taken the lead thanks to a Billy Sharp effort before Yeo equalised minutes later. With 15 minutes of the game to go, Rushden striker Drewe Broughton stomped on Gareth McAuley and was sent off. City scored three times within 8 minutes and won the game by a comfortable 4-1, that is City's only ever win over Rushden.
