Police in Italy have issued nine arrest warrants for suspected market rigging and extortion related to the shares of Serie A outfit SS Lazio.

Police said they investigated a 34 per cent jump in the value of the Rome club's shares earlier in the year after false information was circulated about a possible bid for the men from the Stadio Olimpico.
