Can you show me some examples because I can't remember this occuring.

I don't think it is possible to defend South Africa's record on human rights and I can't believe I've tried to do so. What I do believe though is that you cannot put into words how bad things such as apartheid is and Mandela played a vital part in bringing about its downfall within South Africa. Of course, as always, the only place change can come from is from within (ie. the South African people) but Mandela was an important figurehead of that.
