I see plenty of other clubs have players flying round all over the place. Would be nice to see atleast ONE move from Wise soon.

What a boring week for Swindon Town fans. [Looks like the Adver hasn't had a sniff from the club.]
Complete opposite next week please.
Id rather the club didn't talk to the papers until some definite movements are going to happen. I'd hate to see what ifs all over the back of the adver just to find out they're not going to happen. I'm sure Wise has some names lined up.

I'm sure Wise has some names lined up. I am sure we would all agree with that and I am also sure we have some decent signings lined up. I think though that people were expecting things to happen this week with little Dennis back from his hols and are a bit frustrated at the apparent inactivity. Things are bound to start happening soon I am sure.

The thing is though Wise has had to assess the current players before he can go about brigning in new faces, positions needed, positions needing strengthening etc. If we had a manager who already knew the squad and its capabilities then I think things would have happened sooner. I just think thats the reason its taking longer than people think it should.

I have to say, I can't quite figure out exactly how he is assessing the players at the club when he would not have seen the majority of them play. Who is helping him? Devlin? Carson? ??

No. Not working here either. However, did manage to find this: http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/swindontownfc/display.var.798987.0.excitement_as_new_manager_prepares_to_unveil_initial_batch_of_new_players.phpStory is this: TOWN fans are feeling like excited children on Christmas Eve as Dennis Wise prepares to unwrap his surprise gifts to them.
The new County Ground boss is set to complete his first signings in the next 48 hours with at least two names poised to join this week and further new faces to follow.
Supporters have suffered a long wait for the recruitment drive to begin as Wise has been conducting initial negotiations while on holiday.
But he returns to SN1 this week to begin his revolution in earnest and the fans can't wait to see who he brings with him.
continued... Supporters Club spokesman Nigel Bennett said: "The is an air of genuine expectancy waiting for news of these new signings.
"The fans are looking forward to it immensely and to the new season, despite the league we find ourselves in.
Wise and chief executive Mark Devlin have kept their cards very close to their chests thus far a far cry from last pre-season when former boss Andy King was happy to declare his targets.
"Everybody has been speculating but it's a good business policy to do what the club have done," said Bennett. "They don't want to alert other clubs to targets so the fact we've had no news so far isn't a bad thing."
Wise's top priority is a new goalkeeper after Rhys Evans' switch to Blackpool left the club without a senior custodian on their books.
Andy Marshall Wise's former No1 at Millwall has been strongly linked, while Bristol City's Steve Phillips has publicly expressed his desire to join.
Outfield players rumoured to be in the reckoning include ex-Swansea midfielder Roberto Martinez and Rochdale forward Ricky Lambert.
Bennett says a combative midfield general is top of the fans' wish list.
He added: "Myself and many of the other supporters believe a central midfielder is something we've needed for a number of seasons a player who can perform a destructive role.
"Lee Peacock up front should score goals at this level and defensively I think we're in good shape.
"Obviously we need a goalkeeper or two, but if the fans can identify that I'm pretty sure the management team can.
"The sides that generally do well are ones with experience. I would like to see us targeting players aged 25 to 30 rather than 20 to 25.
"And if we can bring in high profile players with experience that will generate even more enthusiasm at the club for next season."

That'll probably be the main article on the thisis site then when the site finishes uploading whatever it's doing.
