seriously why would anyone ever referee ? I sometimes take the dog down Mannington on a Sunday morning and watch a match and the Refs (escpecially the younger ones) get no end of grief.Surely if you are fit enough to Ref your fit enough to play.Odd people are referees.

Yeah you see ref's getting no end of abuse from kids matches right up to seiors these days, it has come to something when pub football requires them to put up with indimidation. :old

My mate's a ref, well he's a lino at Conference level, he's only about 23 so he should be a FL ref in a couple of years. he loves it, and makes some good money out of it.

yeh until he gets slated in the media because he got a decision marginally wrong (refs are bound to get decisions wrong on ocasions but the media wont accept it)

I hate our media. We are fed propaganda with 90% of the nation not even realising it.
And our sporting media are just a bunch of tabloid journo's making something out of nothing just to fill a 24/7 sports channel.

i love banter with ref's during games. any decision against me he deserves a shouting at, and then we doesnt give one my way, well that's just racist  my favourite one was last year, our team played in black and when a throw in or corner went our way the ref naturally would say "black ball" followed by the usual "racist" reply  that'l llearn em. one hugged me last thursday. what a gay |
