Kids have had a US XBox for the last 3 years. They have about 15-20 games, which range from Shrek, Ice Age, Project Gotham to US sports (a couple of Baseball (MVP 2005 & 2006) an American Football (Madden 06)). My questions are:

1. Is there any point bringing the system back ?
2. Do the games work in the UK ?
2. Could I flog the XBox & games in the UK and if so for about how much ?

Cheers for any info.

Not sure about the xbox, but on older consoles you have the problem with the different TV system. Europe pretty much uses PAL where I think the US uses NTSC. There are frame rate difference and other stuff.

Worth looking up but I guess it's still the same.

Thought most TVs in the UK are multiregion these days and can cope with PAL, NTSC and SECAM.

Not really sure to be honest. I think it's more likely to be difference in the consoles than the TV's. For some reason Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo don't like you importing games.

I know for a fact that you used to have to get your Playstation chipped to play imported games, nothing on the xbox has interested be enough to look into it, but I wouldn't be suprised if it's the same.

Do a google search.

OK, well a year to think about it. Will probably flog it all over here before coming back as no doubt the little angels will want the latest playstation/xbox/game cube/whatever by then.

In the UK, the selling of mod chips was ruled illegal in 2004. I'm sure you will be able to find somebody to do it somewhere but worth checking out exactly where!

My mate has modded his xbox. He found a chip which you can connect without soldering as well, he downloads all his games
