radio wiltshire said this morning have said wise will be appointed new manager.

They're actually saying he's in negotiations - not that he is the new manager.

just to clear this up, i said will....not that he is.

not sure that breaking your own team mates jaw on a pre-season trip makes you a legend.  Makes you a twat in my book.  Not keen at all to be honest, but rumour has it that I've been wrong before.

This is about as good an idea as the Celtic Chairman saying " I know Lets bring John Barnes in as manager"!!!! :|

Id be interested to know why people are having their doubts over wise and is there anyone who would actually prefer Iffy over Wise?

I doubt the appointment of Wise as a wise choice (hehe) as, although he enjoyed a modicum of success at Millwall, when they had to sell and had no money he couldn't cope, a situation similar to that which he would face here.  I'm also unsure as to how solid his knowledge is of the lower leagues, and his ability to work with players of no real talent.

what makes me laugh is that people are slagging off iffy for not being tough enough on the players, but as soon as we get a chace to bring in a manager who would discipline the players, everyone is up in arms and against the idea.

I'm not sure Wise is a disciplinarian.  His record on the pitch in regards to discipline is hardly exemplary, and we need not go on about his record off the pitch.  Do we want a disciplined team or a team of hot-headed hooligans?

a little bit of passion is not neceserrily a bad thing. how many times have u seen our players not go in for 50:50 balls this seasoin, and pull out of tackles. if wise was in charge players wouldn't be aloud to do that. i no he is a bit ill-disciplined, but is that such a bad thing. you wouldnt call neil warnok the nicest man in the world, an look whats happend to sheff united this season.

Having a little sniff around brings back the following results:

Millwall fans reckon he got the team motivated and other teams would hate playing against a side managed by him

Coventry fans seem to think he'd still be a good player next season

Millwall fans are divided, quite strikingly, about his transfer dealings.  Players such as Hayles and Dichio for exampe being touted as extremely bad ones (when I'd have thought they'd be ok for a club like Millwall!).  Given that he won't be able to sign stupidly expensive players here then I reckon we get to use his best quality and can cancel out any extravegence in the transfer market by having little dosh.
