A grand cock-up on the FA's part though isn't it?
Ruling him out, himself declaring his loyalty to Portugal, has to be an Englishman...
Good manager but fucking rubbish from the FA, which is odd as they've got a good bloke

The FA are shit :x ,i will still be slightly amazed if Big Phil comes to us tbh because i don't trust the useless suits who run our national game, they usually conspire to cock something up.

I think the problem with the fa was that none of them really agreed on who to appoint. To be fair the papers haven't helped by continually claiming that one manager or another was a certainty for the job and then changing their minds the next day.
If Scolari is appointed though and does well then couldn't i care less about the selection process.

I think the F.A have picked the wrong man!, Andy King should have got the job, im sure you agree with that Ben.

3) He drops beckham and plays gerrard on the right with carrick and lampard in the middle and cole on the left... wait that's just what I'd do if I was manager. ignore me.
This man speaks so much sense for a borderline alcky.

As much as I like Carrick and he should definitely be in the squad, you'd be mad to drop Lampard who alongside Rooney is our best player.
The idea of dropping Beckham and moving the versatile Gerrard to the right is much better, Beckham's record in major tournaments is pathetic, red card in 1998, pulled out of a crucial tackle in 2002, missed penalty in 2004, he's clearly a liability.

I agree Johno, sadly there isn't an England manager about who has the experience and proven quality at international level My first choice was Hiddink[sp],but the FA messed it up so Scolari is the next best option .

This morning on the radio apparently he has partially agreed to the job however they have offered him 2.5 million and he wants 5 million (a year)! Greedy foreigner. I think he should prove his worth before he even considers asking for more money!

Tbf to Scolari,he must be aware that Sven is making a shed load of money :x ,its understandable that he's going to try and get as much as he can.Sven is on a massive wage and we've done nothing under him, instead of losing in glorious fashion like we used to,now we just lose

I think he PROVED HIS WORTH by winning the world cup .. getting Portugal to the final of Euro 2004 and getting Portugal to the world cup unbeaten in their group
Better to have a tactical and technical coach than a big boot merchant like Sam Allardyce .. personally id have preferred Martin O'Neill but Big Phil is a good choice
