That'll be it, no more after that according to Groening.

It's been poor for the last 3 or so years anyway tbh. Family Guy and Futurama's the way forward!

I'll porbably get lynched for this but I actually prefer American Dad at the moment.

Like King of the Hill, not as many laughs or as clever as Family guy but has some some storming cracks that leaves me in stiches.

I noticed on imdb there is a 2008 entry.. here

Think that any ending of the simspsons news should be taken with a pinch of salt, although it's gonna happen eventually.

Of course, Futurama has been resurected by fox, [family guy esque, normal brackets ain't working] maybe matt greonning wants to concentrate on that. doubt it though. simpsons survived the last futurama effort.

The simpsons has generally just got a bit more random in recent series. Still have a few classic episodes, and the classics are eppisodes which wouldn't have been made at it's height, so I sort of like it keeping on going.

simpsons for me will always be legendary and the best imo.

i hope the movie doesn't ruin the all the series work and make the simpsons look crap. they need to pull it off....i could imagine full cinemas everyday it is at the cinema everywhere for the simpsons.

If it's crap, then it's almost certainly after 2000 which is when it should have finished.

As I understand it in the USA, quality of product, doesn't enter into it.

As long as ratings stand up and advertisers buy in, then you produce stuff.

If ratings fall then only then you don't.

Right as opposed to over here where we have such "quality of product" as X Factor, Celebrity Love Island, Wife Swap etc etc

It has been known for some of our creative artistes, like John Cleese and Ricky Gervaise for example to knock winning series on the head for artistic rather than commercial reasons.

Fair point, hadn't considered it from the writers', rather than commisioners', point of view. As ever, I bow to your superior wisdom, Reg

I would like to have believed that Matt Groening was in that same category. It would appear not.

I think it's the link, I blame dazzza.

As for the Simpsons, I was never a massive fan and I have no idea which season is what. I still haven't seen the Gervais one, was it any good?

A few points:

1. If you are not a massive fan of The Simpsons (1991-2000) there is something very wrong with you.

2. The Ricky Gervais episode has not been shown yet.

3. I would imagine the afore mentioned Ricky Gervais episode is toe curlingly bad. I would love to be wrong but I bet I am not.

Thank you.
