Such a crap place to live? I have lived here all my life and I have just returned from home travelling around the uk and I can honestly say that sadly this is the worse place I have seen sadly.
Now I know why many of my friends have moved out of the area after seing some wonderfull places in the uk.
Something needs to be done about this dump.

Go back around the country then, you didn't have to come back. Yes, some parts of Swindon are a bit rundown but there are some nice parts to Swindon that are nice places to live or go to.
And refering to your screen name "We are going down" you obviously haven't got the belief that most Swindon Fans do and with the table so tight this year we don't know what'll happen. Your obviously one of these fans that have wrote us of already and think we'll go down and out easy, WRONG.

You obviously have not seen all the UK on your travells then. Granted Swindon may not be the Centre of the universe but its modern, clean and has most facilities compared to some of the shit holes I have had the pleasure of visiting during away games. Here are amongst the worst:
1. Luton. Biggest shithole ever. Might as well been in Pakistan.
2. Hull. More akin to something from the Czech Republic.
3. Gillingham. Full of chavs and pikeys. Your posh if you shop at Matalan here.
4. Southend. Cockney wannabies.
5. Barnsley. Northern slum town full of cafes serving bacon sarnies.

i've travelled around the UK and compared to a lot of places in the UK Swindon is a fucking metropolis.
Thats why I don't get everyone moaning about Swindon. You don't like it - move to Middlesbrough and then you'll see what a shithole is.

I'm hopefully moving to swindon soon, so :fu:  To be honest there are nicer places to live. But even they have problems. Example: My Mrs is from York. Beautiful town. Jam full of fooking tourists most of the year and a real shit to park in the town centre. |

For example, if you are trying to compare Swindon with Torquay/Bournemouth (in fact most places on the coast with a beach), its always going to compare negatively. The same with any place with natural beauty and major tourist attractions. All places have their problems, Swindon is no different to most, but there are hundreds of worst places in this country to live. IMHO, the standard of living in Swindon is generally quite good for the area. Rather Swindon than Bristol. And if you don't like it, just move somewhere you do like and stop moaning. |
