I was gonna leave at 10am with the lads and go via oxford, isnt that easier? I think the roadworks are still there, about a 5 mile stretch along the A34, all down to 40mph. It's hellish on a Saturday

Which route is the best route to take to Forest by car?
Just looked at AA routefinder and doesn't look great. Will be leaving from the CG not from Chelt (even though its closer).
Does anyone know any quick routes or best roads to use?
Also what time would we need to leave to get there a couple of hours/hour and a half before the game starts? A419 M5 M42 A42 M1 J25 Signposted all the way in from there Lady Cheers, that sounds fine. I take it stay on the 419 until the very end (cheltenham) then go back on M5 from there heading towards brum. reason being my mate from cheltenham may need picking up on the way back from the CG. Sure A419 back to Cheltenham, then shoot through on the A40 and jump on M5 main Gloucester junction

That route has currently got roadworks on the A34, M40, A43 and M! - its a bugger. I have to drive it every week to come from Nottingham to home games via Oxford to pick my brother up. Go the other way! If you do brave it it is easiest to just go from the M40 to the M1 via the A43 and then all the way up to J25.

Alternate:
A419 to Ciren, A429 to Warwick, A46/A45/A46 to M69, M69 to M1.
When it's quiet it's a great route. When those pesky caravanners come out to play in the Cotswolds it is a git.

a419 to cirencester then a429(stow road) then take m40 north then pick up m42 a42 m1 ect this is shortest route,i work as a trucker and have taken all routes to nottingham. avoid a34 as it has restrictions and is a nightmare at the moment. the 419 m5 m42 a42 m1 is a decent route to and is probably the quickest. would advise all to check travel news before leaving then decide on route.

I'm going with that one. Gotta get mate from Chelt on way back from CG. M5 is about 5 mins from my house by car anyway.
