Soda is really nice however the downstairs bit is really really dingy. overall though its great for old town as its a couple of minutes from pretty much every bar.

I went there once and it was terrible, maybe I chose a bad night, but £3 a pint to be subjected to offensive rap music, and loads of bad attitude fueled knobs wasn't my idea of fun. Then again I never knew it played indie and had live bands.

There are certainly rumours of non competitive forces in play amongst the clubs/bars in old town, to try and prevent certain other establishemnts extending and opening from what I've heard.

With this Bath Uni thing coming to swindon could be a possible goldmine.
You'd be right there. Even food outlets near to where students live make a lot of cash. One of the unis in Bristol have just put up about 5 big student halls all out of townish with not much on site. A kebab shop or something similar by it would make loads.
