Good lad, they really are a club which should be doing better than they are, good fans, big crowds and they hate city more than us.  I'd die laughing if they could come up as city went down!

Just reading on the website .. officially he is still just known as the first team coach but selects players, transfers all that stuff.

Lennie Lawrence has come in as Director of Football .. to do the structure of the club, reserves, youths etc

As I understand it PT is coach and team selection and Lennie Lawrence is Director of Football, responsible for everything else.

These arrangements don't always work out well, but I could see that being a good pairing.

These two tier things dont always work out .. but I reckon PT will MAKE this one successful .. Although his dad wasnt a great manager I think Paul has got his dads determination combined with his mums PR skills .. and that makes him a good person for management.  Certainly a top class coach anyway!

It have been more of a shame if he'd been kept on at O*ford and got in you in the PO's, rather than forcing him out before he could complete the decentish job he did for Kassam.

Pleased for him, think getting Lawrence in is a good move as well as he's got bags of experience.

what decentish job? he got in a load of his mates which he's been dragging around from club to club. they gelled quicker than any other team in the league because they already knew each other and atkins' style of football isn't exactly the most complex to adapt to. after about 10 games it was clear that we played exactly the same way every week. managers realised this and nullified our tactics. going into the christmas period we hadn't won for ages and were having trouble scoring. atkins went.

hence what you say is not true, reg and rich. we wouldn't have been near the playoffs.

then, to concrete my point, atkins goes to brizzle r, takes some of the same old players with him, plays exactly the same way and, without agogo, they'd have been relegation fodder.
