Ok, I'll explain if it makes you happy
The dealer deals everyone 3 cards (in any order), and one for himself.  All the people that are dealt 3 cards must leave them flat on the table and no-one is allowed to look at them.  The dealer then turns over his (or her (not sexist!)) card and puts it in the middle of the table so that everyone can see it (Lets say it is the 4 of diamonds).
The dealer must then decide on the size of the pot, which he or she must put in themselves (I will explain how they decide how much to put in later).  Lets say that the dealer puts £5 into the pot (the minimum you can put for the pot is 10p by the way).
the object of the game is to have one of your own three cards which is the same suit and a higher value than the card that the dealer has put down
The person to the left of the dealer then decides how much he is willing to stake (so if the dealers card is low he would be more likey to stake more as theres a better chance of winning and vice versa).  After he has put his stake in the pot, he turns over his cards to see if he has won.  If one of the players cards is the same suit and higher than the dealers card, then they win double their stake back.  However the player cannot stake more than half of the pot, because there wouldn't be enough money in the pot to payout.  If a player decides to stake half of the pot and wins, then this is called shooting the pot, and the player takes the pot and becomes the dealer.
The dealer must decide on a new pot after each round when new cards are dealt.  The dealer deals for 3 consecutive rounds (unless someone shoots the pot) and then the person to their left becomes the new dealer and so on.
As I was saying before, if the dealer deals a low card for his own, then he should put a smaller pot as there is a high chance that he will loose it.  If he deals a high card for himself, then he should put a larger pot to encourage people to shoot the pot, because there is less chance of them winning.

I think thats it all covered.  Happy gamblimg

Anyone ever played 'snap'?

HERE'S HOW TO PLAY SNAP:

Divide a pack of cards by the number of players. Each player in turn puts down a card into the centre of the table. Each player does so in turn so that the cards pile up. If the card layed on top of the last is the same (number or picture) then the first player to slap their hand down on top of the pile and shout snap wins that pile of cards. Winner is the person who acquires all of the cards.

Happy snapping!
