Alan Green may well be Man U fan but i do like his style of commentating. He says it as it is and dares to criticise players and officials, unlike the smug twats on the tele.Be it on ITV ,Sky,BT ,i would still rather listen to a match on the radio. God bless the Bbc i say . . . unless that cunt Steve Claridge is doing the punditary(is that a word)?

I'd prefer it if he commentated on the actual game. Every time I hear him, he's either moaning about something or other or pushing his own opinions. Ego the size of Barnsley and half as pretty

Green was OK about 1985....but is well past his sell by date, and should have been binned long ago.

Unlike some of the "thick as pig shit and twice as smelly" pundits on the telebox.

Quite right. But just because there's some crap pundits on the telly doesn't stop Alan Green being a tosser. In some ways, he's worse, at least on the telly you can ignore the gibbering and still see what's going on, on radio you're wholly dependent on the commentator describing the game rather than banging on about his personal hobby horses

Strange as Alan green is a self confessed Liverpool supporter. Always enjoyed his commentaries when I was a Championship Manager playing youngster, must admit haven't listened to 5L commentary for years though.

Alan "2-0: game over" Green. A man quick to criticise players and officials in quite vitriolic tones, yet is himself prone to errors. And is forever calling the penalty area "penalty air". I can understand his appeal, but for me John Murray is a much better listen.

I've a lot of time for Alan Green. His delivery may grate at times, but the substance of what he says is usually spot on. As mentioned, he is 100% Liverpool.

He is just like most Pundits though including ex players when they try and convey a fans opinion.....they have no chance.
When do they get pissed about by plod and stewards or queue up for second rate grub etc etc.
Just swan up to the press entrance with hot and cold running biscuits....
