I am pretty sure he had the nickname "the chief" at Halifax early in his career.

He is one of the nicest politest men in football, when he shook my hand after winning the championship title under McMoan his hands were the size of a bunch of bananas, absolutely massive and I have very big hands but they dwarfed mine totally.

Not at all, there was nothing else I could compare it too Smiley if you feel it was racist then I fear that is your conscience and not mine if you are the one associating bananas with black people when I, as you very well know, were not.

Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Was that Rideout goal the one from nearly the halfway line? That's the way I remember it anyway.

I remember it being a bit closer then the halfway line. Wish there was a video of it.

He was measured somewhere between 35 and 38 yards at the time, It was a cracker in the top corner too, like you say its a shame there is no footage of it around on the net.
