Just a quick show of hands - has anyone ever come across the idea that someone saying 'john Hancock' to you in conversation is a threat against your life?

I know it sounds bizarre but I thought if anyone would know it would be the tef.

never heard that but its the name of one of the biggest US life insurance companies so could feasibly be used as a veiled threat on a life ?

The only reference I have heard to do with John Hancock is relating to a signature. Just googled that to check and can't see anything to say otherwise.

I did the same Notts. Unless anyone can tell me otherwise I'm going to become more suspicious of my sister-in-laws current squeeze.

You might be getting confused with a John Doe...which is an American term for a unidentified male corpse.

A John Hancock is definitely a signature.
