For the last few seasons have been going into the Queensway club pre match for a couple of pints and normally sit with a bloke called Graham a real character  originally from Cornwall. he doesn't go to our matches but likes his Saturdays lunch time pint. the stories he tells as a footplate man on the old trains in and around Swindon are fascinating. Not being brought up in Swindon I can't relate to a lot of the names he mentions but find it interesting all the same. He rides his old bike down to the club and lives somewhere off of Queens drive, perhaps someone on here even knows who I'm talking about?

Yes sorry that's the one, it is apparently a men only club officially but they are quite relaxed about the rules on a Saturday lunch time with men taking their wives in pre match. The beer is very resonable priced around £2.20 for ale and with it being great for parking on match days it's well worth the membership fees.

Me neither Leefer. It looks like they've changed management/ committee in recent weeks and have got a lot hotter on showing membership cards and signing guests in. Gets busy on a match day but not so busy you can't get to the bar for a few beers  Smiley

Two of the bar staff/ committee are Scotsmen and a couple of hardened north of the boarder drinkers are normally proping up the bar  Pint come across one Saturday and I'll buy you a pint.
