i don't get it. why go to all that trouble to get in a manager that none of the fans want, give him basically no money after two of their best players were sold then sack him a year later.
very few managers would have been able to do a better job than he has done (i'm sure martinez would have mind) and i can't see anything beyond another year fighting against relegation.

The problem at Villa is that they sold all their best players and left the sqaud with the likes of Collins, Heskey and Ireland. I would blame the Chairman for Villa being shite.

Just had a quick read on the situation and that would seem to be the case (was worth 1.5 billion in 2009 but significantly losses since then) suggesting no funds would have been available to McLeish or Cleveland |
