Best place in Thailand (or the planet), in my opinion, is Koh Samet.
May be a tad quiet for some but for families it fucking brilliant. Love the place.
Agree 100%, stayed at Ao Phrao a few times but the wife (to be) doesn't want to go back there because she was bored the last time we were there for four days. Also really easy to get to from Bangkok.

Before going on the honeymoon I have the unenviable task of going through a Chinese wedding ceremony where i'm the centre of attention with 250 guests and have to give several really gay speaches thanking my wife for our future together (in Chinese). This whole process has been horrible, we gave out gifts to all the guests with their invitation, took our wedding photographs a month ago in a proper modelling studio (and theres no way to airbrush out fat and ugly-me not the wife) and on the day we have multiple video cameras and photographers to remind me of the day. Dreading it completely! On the plus side the guests here need to give a little red envelope stuffed full of money so hopefully the whole wedding will cost me nothing in the end.
