Interesting topic this one.I'm itching to take my grandson to his first town game. He's not quite 4 yet, and his mum ain't having it just yet!All my lads were 4-5 when they saw their first town game, 5 of them are coming to the game with me tonight.Only one of them never really got interested in football, no he's not gay!

You've almost definitely got a homosexual on your hands.
I've never even considered supporting Brighton, might be an option for him.

I took my Grandson to his first game v Crewe, he is 3 1/2, he did watch some of the footie but i was glad i had Bob The Builder movie on my phone for him to watch, as he did get a bit bored and wasn't that impressed with the noise when we scored. Take him along but be prepared for some boredom.

I reckon my lad only just started watching the whole game at the end of last season. He just turned 7 this month.

There has been a large increase in toddlers sat near me in the DRS, which means i have to keep my insults and expletives to a minimum. Which is annoying considering we're getting no good results over the last 2 seasons...
Dont worry about that mate, it aint gonna stop me Ill get louder for you

Same as this, although my son will be 8 in November. He was 6 when he first went and didn't understand it at all. He's very clued up now, but if the game's not very good, he'll usually start asking around 4.30 if we can go yet and then proceed to whinge on and off until the end. My youngest is 4 and not remotely interested in football yet, so don't envisage taking him for a good year or so.

First took my son at 5 - got there nice and early then he wanted a wee 2 mins into the match and we then missed the only goal of the game. He's still going to games now though 15 years later.

I took both my boys when they were 5. The two and a half hour drive each way was a bigger challenge than the game itself. Both, thankfully, loved the football from the start. The biggest problem was that my youngest seemed to think we always won as he was lucky enough to witness the play off season first up. Wembley soon brought him down to earth...They both still wear their Swindon shirts in West Ham country so it's obviously had a positive impact!

Good news I have a babysitter for saturday so i can go and i don't have to take him. Having a read through all the comments on here, I think i'll leave it untill he's about 5. It's quite interesting how different children of so many age's react differently. Our wembley season i had a ST for my nephew who was 7, and he was a pain in the arse, but TBF he wasn't that much into football and had a very small attention span. My little boy who is only 2 1/2 loves football but i'll enjoy a couple of years of freedom first
