I just watched Graffiti Wars and Concrete Circus (both fucking superb, especially Graffiti Wars) and saw How Hip Hop Changed the World the other night, which was also excellent. I have One Man Walking and Life of Rhyme on Sky+ ready to watch, so will have to watch these soon as well. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/street-summer/articles/street-summerAnyone watched any of these shows they're doing?

Watched Exit Through The Gift Shop, Graffiti Wars and Concrete Circus.
Find it refreshing that Channel 4 actually show some stuff that's worth watching.

Yeah I'm going to have to watch that one on 4OD.
Did anyone remember the 3 part series channel 4 did a few years back (just checked and it was 12 years ago, yikes!) called 'The Hip Hop Years'? That was good, the book was also good.

I had a butchers at this after posting last night. It was a far too street for me. There's a limit to how much street lingo I can take and an hour is way past that point. I won't be finishing it.

I worked a show on monday with a new chappie called Big Sean. Apparently he is the next big thing. Kanye west came along and did a song with him.
I didnt really understand much of what was going on. Despite being fourty I do have a bit of taste in old school rap, but tend to loose interest a bit when the entire show consists of people playing records for 30 second whilst so the rapper can shout 'throw your fucking hand in the air motherfucker' and 'make some motherfucking noise'. Clearly mr rapper you have the PA and mic, you make the noise, we will appreciate when neccessary.
The only thing that seemed in place about me was my ridiculous spectacles, which I am told are a bit cool. Personally I think they're a bit geeky. Maybe thats cool. It must have been cool as Westwood gave me his card and asked for mine. Buffoon.

Westwood is great.
There was a show about MC's in this series with Rodney P, Roots Manuva, Black Twang, Taskforce, etc. - it was the one presented by Akala (don't rate him). Life of Rhyme I think.
Goldie was probably on a show because he's done a lot of graffiti which is an element of hip hop.
I've seen some bit of the series but will get around to watching it all if its on 4od.
