I know you're trying to narrow it down, but I also like Marseille, Stockholm, Munich, Lisbon and Amsterdam.

Given the choice right now, I'd go to Madrid.

Florence will be hot and full of americans.... went to Pisa last year in May, weather was great and it was surprisingly quiet which wasnt a bad thing. Equally with Pisa you can also go to Lucca if you fancy a bit of Culture, or Viareggio if you fancy sea and beach!

Ah....Lucca.....now there is the jewel of Tuscany....if you go there, I'll hitch a lift!!!

It is, although not as much as people say. Alcohol is quite a lot more expensive though.

Sorry my friend.  Have to disagree with you there!  Having gone at the end of Feb, I can honestly say I have never been to a more expensive city.  

Transport you can do the Oslo pass which is easy and (relatively) cheap but everything else is extortionate!  To get a decent hotel will cost you quite a bit -  we paid about 65/70 a night each and that was super basic!

I do agree however that Oslo is very nice

Barcelona is awesome in summer - would highly recommend with tonnes to do.
Valencia is lovely too as someone else mentioned.

I'm going to Tallinn and Helsinki in a couple of weeks so will feedback as apparently thats nice in summer!

Funnily enough you can get some good deals to Marrakech too!
