One question I've never found an answer to about kids' TV and stories in general - is why the fixation with giving animals human characteristics and emotions? Anthropomorphism. It's a constant right across the world, and has been for generations. Teach your impressionable, receptive kids that frogs and hedgehogs talk to each other and that mice play guitars. Why? I don't get this.
