I've been on the phone to jobseekers direct to look up about a couple of vacancies and I've been queueing for ten fucking minutes!

no wonder unemployment is rife  :x

p.s. does anyone here fancy giving me a job? I'm not as lazy as I seem.

Unfortunately getting a decent job boils down to one important element: Who you know.

Also search for all the agencies near you, and then find their web-sites.

I worked in a Jobcentre for about a year, that was understaffed so we never had time to look for jobs for people which rather defeats the point of it, from what I hear from people still there the phone lines are undermanned as well.

Good idea to go into the agencies as well, and keep going in to make sure they remember you. When I was last looking for work they told me that you needed to keep hassling them to remind them of you, otherwise your name gets to the bottom of the pile very quickly. Smiley
