After watching Cook get his ton for England the thaughts were on todays match v Yeovil...i decided to open my 25 year old Talisker Whiskey fermented for a quarter of a century on the Isle of Skye....as i swallowed the smooth honey colored liquid i felt sorry for the fact that something so old had been disturbed...oh well it will be back in the cycle of life after tomorows early morning pee.
The decision was to walk from Stratton to the match on account of being at least 4 times over the limit..the half bottle of Shiraz was polished off also...by Crowdys Hill i was walking like the Tin Man,my legs were frozen solid,,i stopped at the coop in Gorse Hill for a tin of Guiness and finally the County Ground Hotel offered me its warm protection.....DRS turned up on the scene and baught me a whiskey, must be Xmas i thaught as i watched Deano down Southern Comfort in one gulp, only kidding off course as he treated me to a ticket and off we headed into the hazy wintry sunshine..the Mr Mugabi lookalike on the turnstyle flashed me a dazzling smile and i walked into the ampitheatre..after a dodgy start the bumper crowd roared there approval as the Paynter man rose and headed majesticly in via JPM,s teasing cross...the move off the match was finished off by Austin who powered a neat chip into the net...incidently nots lets forget the ball by Douglas..outside of the foot to start the move...Tomlins flukey goal didnt really worry me.just had that feeling today.
Half time Coffee being finished and a roar told me i had missed the Yeovil equalizer...imagine my delight i had missed Towns third goal, finished by Ward, who impressed me with his apetite.....Cuthbert could have scored twice and Billy fluffed his lines at the death when put through...a great team display had ended..a good crowd left in high spirits...hats off to Yeovil who didnt give up but there players looked pleased to come off with a 3-1 defeat..roll on Fulham i thaught as i Cheerio,d DRS.
The few miles back home wasnt helped by the biting cold breeze...i got in feeling like Frosty the Snowman with Snowballs in place of my natural things.
A good performance by Town as i say goodbye to a cold Saturday..and hello to my friend from Talisker.

I can empathise Leefer, having done a similar job on a bottle of vintage Courvoisier on Christmas Day....still got a bit left though.

I'd actually been keeping it for such an event, but when we had them in the 90's, just ended up getting rat arsed in the pub as per usual.

I dont know how anyone could walk home after the game. Too cold.

Scuttled off to the County, came out when I had warmed up enough, 3 hours later.

Yesterday although chilly wasn't too bad...that's one of the advantages of being able to stand in the TE, is that you can keep the circulation going by doing the terrace footstomp.

 Sitting is just hopeless.
