I have no idea who half these referees are or remember their performance. They're all bastards in black in my opinion.

That decision against Hartlepool last season was terrible to say the least. Hopefully he remembers it coming back here and does us a favour.

regarding Atwell.

Didnt we have him for a home game last season and he was really good?

It's the particularly bad ones that tend to stick in my mind...step forward A Hall and R Styles...sadly, the good ones go unnoticed, which arguably IS the sign of a good referee

I remember Steve Bennett doing a good job when we played Rovers away. Apart from that, Premiership refs tend to be just as bad as the rest. And perhaps worse, given that they seem to referee slightly differently to FL refs

Yes, I dont recall who we were playing but Atwell obviously does have a bit of a name these days so I remember paying close attention and he was one of the best Ive seen at the CG for a long time.

That didnt stop the Adver using the "calamity ref" headline in the match report though because we scored a goal that should have been disallowed for offside. (It was a shocking decision, miles offside)

Very unfair on Atwell though as it was the linesman who made the cock-up.

Edited to add, I remember the game now, it was Hereford.

The lesser-spotted "effective short-corner" routine even made an appearance.

Hall did something horrible at the weekend...can't remember what...I'll do a bit of research.

In fact it was the Cardiff v Newcastle game weekend previous...he didn't give Cardiff a couple of stone wallers, and generally got decisions wrong...remember thinking who's this cunt, didn't realise he was the HPool idiot.
So basically he's got a bit of a NorthEast fetish. Good job we're playing Wycombe then

I have a certain dislike towards bennet because he called a game off at the last minute at colchester a good few seasons back which left colchester and swindon bewildered when the pitch was playable, according to colchester sources at the time he had broken down on the way to the game and got soaked while waiting for the RAC,at the time we was in decent form and they had Karl Duigud missing.I think the rearranged game ended 1-1 with reddy scoring ours.

Fair play to colchester tho they gave us vouchers for free entry for the rearranged game.

I remember the goal (I think). Big hoof from Mildenhall, bouned through, Reddy got on the end of it and slotted it in.

I hadn't made the late postponed game but went to the rearranged fixture on the coach. Still got a free ticket in which was nice.
