Surprised it hasn't been mentioned before, classic, one of my favourite songs of all time solo from 5.20 onwards- gutted it doesn't show all of it!!

(I supposed if this thread was on QI I'd have just set of the alarms and lost 25 points)

Youtube style, hopefully Dell will love this thread.

I'll kick it off, Slash plays 2 fantastic solos in this, the first is around 4:10 and the second at about 7:25. Enjoy.

Oh yes, brilliant!!

Alan never heard this before, so I thought I would give you my thoughts during my maiden voyage of listening to it.

0-1 mins - nice start, like the sound of the gi-tar and southern sounding vocals
1-2 mins - I get the feeling this is gonna be pretty good.  Feeling the lynyrd skynyrd similarities
2-3 mins - Oh yeah, come on, warming up nicely, feel a i-tunes (spit) purchase coming on
3-4 mins - no you can't lull us into a build up like that and fade, ah picking up again, good work
4-5 mins - Not long now, feeling the repetition of the lyrics, sure sign the solo's in the post, and bingo here it is
5- 7 mins - YEAH!!!!!  GET IN!!!  LOVING THIS!!!  Is the drummer in his pants?  With hair on their heads as long as STA & DV's beards (combined) they rock!!
7-9.3 mins - Loved the fake wind downs and the eventual ending!!!

Brilliant stuff!!!

Jan,

They did a live album from a UK Tour circa 1982.If you can get hold of that it's simply brilliant.
I think i had it on vinyl and it was called 'Highway Song live' or something similar.

Here's a taster from a track that appears on the album...
