I've got Sky TV in the kids room - not HD or Sky+, just the bog standard one and the sky box is now fucked. I haven't read up about it yet as was hoping to be lazy as I know we've got a couple of experts here. Whats the cheapest and quickest way of replacing the skybox without getting Sky out which will cost me dear.

I want to try and get it tomorrow so ebay probably isn't an option. I don't think a Sky+ box would be any good.

Call Sky and say ur leaving to go to Virgin Media as you cant afford to replace the box. If you have been with them for a while they might replace it, worked for me a year or so ago.

Thats probably a good shout. I asked BT for my MAC code and halved my bills and got a free hub. I think I'll give it a go. I've got the offer of a spare box for a few days so I've bought myself some time.
