That’s the best news I’ve had all day!

A cracking series that evolved from those early shaky sets with brilliant exchanges between Barrie and Charles, who apparently hated each other, to the later high budget stuff.  Fuck me though they really fucked it up when Barrie left big time.

There was supposed to be a film.  It was announced about 10 years ago and still hasn’t officially died but remained in pre-production ever since.

Good to see both creators on board as well.

Memory might be a bit fucked here - used to watch it stoned all the time and it was pure aceness !!

Wasn't there an episode where they went into a parallel universe ?

I remember that one being a bit of a fave - but as Land of Bo will confirm they were foggy times !!!

The Series 1 and 2 claustrophobic hatred between Rimmer and Lister is probably the highlight looking back now. Series 3-6 made up for it a bit with silliness, but a lot of that hasn't aged very well.

The last two series were pretty poor, probably to do with the Grant Naylor falling out. although to be fair, JFK is alright as an opener for 7, and the first few in 8 go a bit of the way to getting that Rimmer and Lister stuck with each other again thing, but on the whole those two series are pretty shit.

I reckon odds of 20-1 on this not being cringeworthingly awful is about fair.

It's still great, bar the last two series. In fact - what FB says is spot on!

To be honest, I have to admit that I'm often disappointed when I watch it again now, I think that's partly to do with how much I loved it as a kid. There are a fair few episodes which are still ace though.
