Waterproof camcorders

Toying with the idea of buying one of these waterproof camcorders.   I see there's a Sanyo one and a Panasonic one available, anyone had any dealings with either of these?   First impressions I kinda like the Sanyo, but after reading a few reviews the panasonic edges ahead.

Why a waterproof camera Janaage? You planning on going snorkelling at coate or something?

Because we like going snorkelling when on holiday, also like having a laugh with our niece and nephew in the pool etc and think one of these would be ace!
