Anyone else see this today?

I agree with the reason Fitton is doing this but cant help but feel we could lose out on targets etc with these rules.

http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/display.var.2263038.0.fitton_set_to_get_tough_with_players_agents.php

Like i said i actually think the reason for doing it is a good one but if we are the only club doing it like Fitton thinks we might be then we may lose out in the long run.

I don't think we will lose out at all, agents will be happy to recommend their players as they will still get paid, but all it means is that the agent will get a cut of the players signing on fee and or negotiate a fee with the player for their services, so the player may ask for an extra few quid in wages.

I think it is good as it means that the agent is not being paid twice.

The FL was on about implementing this rule once upon a time !

He said that to refuse to deal with Agents could mean we miss out. all he is saying is that the players agents have to be paid by the players who they have the contrct with which makes sense.

i think his comminges comments are bollocks.

higher wages and a league step up are a great lure regardless of an agent or not.infact his agent has done his job well if he worked to secure him a move to cardiff.

Like I said I can see the reason behind it but we are league1 and a few hundred quid is a big difference to some of them

Yes, especially with HMRC now terming this 'perk' as a 'benefit in kind'.

Despite Commingues saying he wants to play regular first team football, when there is no chance of that at Cardiff?

I think he dropped a bollock his agent obviously told him that he had secured him a move to Cardiff and that is what he told Malpas, when in fact it seems that the deal was not done and dusted.

Surely he should sack his agent for convincing him to sever his ties with swindon with no club to go to thus taking a risk that a championship club would sign him.

I dunno, they sold Chris Gunter so they must be a bit short at right back.

But it is a risk in a sense taking a player that has only played 1 yr of english football in L1 and then expecting him to fit straight in at championship level
