On 31/12/08 I notified Capita of my change of address and date of move etc, and asked them to send me my 2008 bill for my new house so I could set up a D/D.
Guess what................................nothing !!!
I have since e mailed the lazy fuckers 3 times asking for my bill and a D/D form.
Guess what ....................................nothing !!!!!

Is down to the council to send you a council tax form when moving house. We never notified them when we moved in.

I know it's a pain but get yourself down to the council offices Fred and explain what's gone on. I too had a summons sent to me about 18 months ago and was livid.
I went down there had a chat with some bloke and all was sorted, just wasted my time rather than my money.

My mate had similar in Laandaan. The council explained he was at fault and threatened him with court and he had to deal with debt colectors and loads of cunts. He says, fine take me to court, i'm in the right.
It goes to court, i think it was over £2k they (Islington Council i think) were after. My friend decided to represent himself, and made the council look like cunts. The Judge found in favour of my mate and he even got compensation. Funny as fuck.

Fred, I had the same problem when I was off work sick. I qualified for a council tax rebate which a nice man from the council sorted very quickly for me, told me not to worry about anything uintil I returned to work. Un the day I returned to work I notified the council and asked for a direct debit so that I could restart payments. I continued to pester them from July to October when they threatened legal action for "non-payment"! That was the first I had heard from them, I contacted Michael Wills, mp, to tell him what a bunch of wankers SBC were. He tended to agree with me actually, and wrote a letter on my behalf. At last we got a notification of payment and a direct debit form. This was returned personally by hand, and they still threatened legal action!! After many phone calls the penny dropped with them and they set up the direct debit, now for almost twice as much as I had been paying monthy!! They really are a bunch of wankers.

:-- Trouble with the Council Tax thing though is once you get put into the system, it can be hell to get out of the loop. Think I may have posted it before, but when my elder son passed 18, although he was a student, according to SBC it meant a loss of my 25% discount. I had produced all the documentation etc, which they lost. So they hit me with a back payment summons....for which there was no way I was going to pay. So I had to waste a stack of time producing new documentation and trying to get the summons stopped. By which time, I'm sure because of my tendency to go ballistic in such cases, my card was marked. Which meant further summons, and court fines, while I tried to get it sorted ..it got to the ludicrous point where, one would speak to someone who understood the case, but would point out they had no authority to override the system as it was on the machine.....so their advice was ignore the summons....so it went on. I think I just gave up in the end paid the fucking fines....bunch of cunts of the first order.

Similar thing happened to me Ronnie. They refused me DD in the end, because i was in so much "debt" from not paying.
The old dear works with the council, so she got it sorted for me, but my DD went from £70ish to just under £100. SBC are cunts. Big time.
