On the way to the game yesterday, Ed Hadwin was bleating on about how he thought Smith was definitely on his way out, and was surprised to see him anywhere near the squad.

What have i missed for him to be thinking this? Has there been some kind of transfer listing or bust-up or something?

Accoring to OS, Smithy himself thought he was on his way out. I think it was just because he couldn't get into the team.

Smith is guaranteed another couple of games in the near future as Miguel's next yellow card will be his 10th and will result in a 2 game ban.

I thought that rule doesn't apply after the end of February?

I'd like to see if the Minge and Boobs could work as the full backs.  I think it would help give balance to using Easton as the wider player of the 3 midfielders, as I think Malpas is trying to limit the "match winner" slot to only 1 in the team, rather than having both flanks exposed to "flair" players who can be hit and miss.  I see Easton as filling a role like Tom Jones used to fill.  Never a proper right winger but was used well with Kerslake hogging the real wide line.  Jack did a decent enough job last night but I;d like to see 2 attacking fullbacks in this current formation/tactical set-up.

Defo don't apply in the premier league, heard that at the weekend, during the Everton match.

I think its just the "5 bookings rule" which goes out of the window at the end of Feb. Think if you get anymore than that then you still get banned. Not sure if its 8 or 10 though.

You don't see that in every team, but it's not unusual.

Perform week in week out.  We simply can't carry 2 players in the same team who blow so hot and so cold.  If he could just curb his need to dive and flick the ball, he could be that elusive attacking left back, as I suggest.

Add in that our left sided players last night were on pretty good form.  He stands no chance of playing left wing versus that.

I guess you mean centre mid as friends of mine who went to that game said he was awesome in there against Walsall last year.  Personally best one I witnessed was Cheltenham away this season he was fantastic that day but I must say he frustrates me I would love to see him reach those levels every week but once every 5 games is not good enough.  McNamee looks a far more exciting prospect and I look forward to seeing him develop in the coming games.
