If the pain is on one side of the head you should lie with that side of your head face down on a pillow and that will help ask your docotr for the tablets that disslove under your tougne they work wonders also they have certain triggers mine is choclate if i eat choclate i get a migrain i also found that running your head under a cold tap helpd of a really cold press ice cubes wrapped in a tea towel.

one thing you should never do isto drop an e that just makes your head exploxed

Cheers GFM, I will stress to my misses that she cannot drop an E when she has a migraine!

Zomig works for me (prescribed by the GP)... it dissolves on/under the tongue ... seems to work within an hour or so for me ...... oh and like others have said .... shed loads of water .. cos dehydration is often a feature in bad migraine

Been suffering form them for years, even get them so bad I can get paralysed down one side.

The first thing to do is figure out what triggers them (mine are from not eating regularly and having low sugar in the blood - as a result I eat regularly (some might say too regularly!) and ensure I get enough energy if I'm playing football, for example).

Second get something from the Doc.  I now have Migramax which works really well.  I've been out of action for four days with migraines before, but last time Igot one (on a Sunday lunchtime) I was in work the next day.

I also drink Lucazade, eat chocolate and go to sleep.

But, most important is to find the trigger.

Hope that is of some use.

Thought that you might wanna know:

My misses had another migraine attack this morning, and after reading many items on the net saying that coffee helps she tried a cup.

It worked a treat, and almost instantly.

If you have a migraine the light can really hurt your eyes an head when you look at it, this is why I think he said it.
