I am desperately going to try and not swear during this post. Here goes.

I have spent the best part of the day digesting the latest news from Swindon Town FC regarding the takeover bid headed by Andrew Fitton's consortium. I find myself at best extremely disappointed to read and hear quotes from Mr. Fitton himself stating that the deal is dead due to 'last minute' amendments to the deal on the table. One can only assume that one or both of you have to be responsible for those amendments.

I urge you to act in the best interests of Swindon Town Football Club, its staff both on the field and off, its creditors and MOST importantly, its FANS, to remove those amendments from any deal, and to conclude a suitable agreement that sees Andrew Fitton take a majority shareholding in the Company. If this means you fail to see a return on your investment, so be it, especially given you have presided over what some consider to be one of the most turbulent periods in this club's history off the field.

Your management track record has been one of abject failure over the years. Now is the time to cut your losses and hand over the reigns to Mr. Fitton.

If, as you claim Sir Seton, you are a Swindon Town FAN, you will see this is the only option available to you that will see the Club that you supposedly love continue to survive. Indeed, it might even thrive in the future, although of course that can't be guaranteed.

I have been a FAN of Swindon Town for 30 years. I was hooked the day my father took me to a game, and have followed this club through thick and thin ever since. I dream of the day when I might be able to take my son and/or daughter to watch the mighty Reds in action. However, your recent actions look likely to scupper this dream. I for one will NEVER EVER forgive you if you allow that dream to die.

Yours etc.

don't be daft, coxy! mr fitton insisted on these generous last minute offers being inserted into the deal but as an honest gentlemen, mike d simply had to refuse.

Print it, fax it, email it to said people. There's a couple of addresses knocking around to post it to aswell. But we're not allowed to talk about that..

Send it to them, every swindon fan should do the same just to really drive home the message that we don't want them here anymore and to sell the club to fitton.
