News of the World yesterday Mike Ashley says the Newcastle takeover was completed in 72 hours ... and they were £100million in debt.

So how come with Swindon, who are £18m in debt, it has been taking weeks if not months to complete a deal?

Just thought it was worth pointing out ...

Damned ... yes, that's the future of our club at the rate we're going!

I just find it amazing that these things take so long when Newcastle, in a similar situation (just larger as the club is in the prem) takes so much a shorter time.

Just goes to show when there's a will to do things quickly there is a way ...

Would that be because they're a Premiership club with a turnover over 10 times larger than ours, own their own 50,000 seat plus stadium and associated leisure complex and get an average home gate of over 40,000?

Yes, but in proportion, we're say ... 10 times smaller a club in terms of attendance ... and 10 times less in debt ... so I don't see why they can't pull their finger out of their arse and get themselves sorted.

I agree, though, Lumps - the size of Newcastle obviously helps ...

But still ...

Come on - we're rounding up here - nobody knows the exact figure so we're using the only one available.
