So expect another 8 loans during the season who will play and turn 23 into 32 players....

A particular favourite was 00/01 when we also used 36 players, which at the time was a record.....so excited was I by this that I could name all 36. Not sure I could do it now mind....without looking it up.

   Loads of players usually equates to a crap season ....in 69/69 we used 16 players.

...and in 89/90 season (the Ossie Ardiles 'samba football' promotion season) we used 23. When you take out certain individuals who made virtually no contribution, like Ossie himself who played in the first two games only, Kevin Dearden who made one appearance in goal and Leigh Barnard who, suprisingly, made five appearances that season, you could argue that essentially we had a 14 man squad that season.

I'm surprised to see that Steve Foley only managed 23 appearances :shock:
